Facts

A 90s console TV with composite, which from what I've heard, is rare. But what do I know? It has two big speakers on each side. The back is held togetejr by weird hexagonal bolts that need a wrench to remove instead of screws. When I had the back off and was adjusting focus, my brother lied to me about how clear it was so now it is blurry in the middle. Like most CRTs, it could probably use a recap. The inside of the TV is nearly empty, as it has a pretty standard looking board in the bottom, the tube, and then the two speakers off to the side. I think there were mice in it at some point (sad) beacause there was a pile of wood shavings in one corner. I vacuumed and cleaned it up. For a long time, this TV sat in my garage, until I moved it into my room. This took quite a while because the thing is so damn heavy. 27" tubes are already heavy (my other two are around 80 and 100 pounds,) but this one is extra heavy because of the giant wooden cabinet. I eventually used a car jack to get it up the steps into the house, and from there I could use the wheels on the bottom to easily move it.

How I got it

This is the second TV I spent money on. I had found it on facebook marketplace listed for $40 (marked down from $50) and after some pestering my dad drove out and got it. Earlier that day, I had gone to goodwill and got the Coby CX-TV1, and only 30 mins later, got this one (and my Panasonic VCR combo unit.) The person I bought it from helped move it up from a weird basement up a hill while snowing (I brought towels to protect it) and eventually managed to fit it in the car. There were two other CRTs, but I only got one of the other ones. I would've gotten the other one, but there was no more space in the car. It was pretty cool though and still had the box. Wish I had grabbed it.

Review

9/10 television. Good on-screen display, actually has composite (unlike a few other of my TVs,) but has some focusing issues.

When turned off for a while, the image will appear blue-green for a few seconds. Maybe the red gun is dying? I hope not.

I play gamecube on this tv.

This TV, which is my largest, compared to the Coby CX-TV1, which is my smallest.

I used a car stand to get it out of the garage and into my room due to its weight.

Like the other Zenith console I have, the X4214, it has a little plastic bit sticking out the back to protect the neck board of the tube instead of juts making a larger wooden cabinet.
