Forgotten Mines

Class: 4

Level 10 is, as the name suggests, an old system of many mineshafts. Very few experienced people visit this level, because it is dangerous and easily avoidable, which is where the other half of its name comes from. The mine is comprised of mostly two-to-three-meter-wide tunnels supported by old wooden beams. The beams are old and rotting, with many having collapsed and reduced to mere rubble. The roof of the level varies, from half a meter to twenty. The higher roofs are mainly inside of larger rooms. There are many ores and precious gemstones still left in the rock walls. Piles of rubble and rock scatter the tunnels, making walking around somewhat difficult. The walls, roof and floor are uneven and jagged. Across the floor, you can commonly find rails and minecarts, most of which are still filled with ore. You can sometimes find small crawlspaces around the level. These are actually much safer than they look, and are safer than the halls, but be careful, as you could get stuck and die. There are sometimes large rooms here in this level. These rooms usually serve as storage or smelting rooms. It is advised to stay away from smelting rooms, as they pollute the air with carbon monoxide, killing many who enter them. Carbon monoxide poisoning is actually the biggest danger on this level, even above the entities. However, some greedy TOTG people have sent captured enemies to extract the precious coal and materials from these rooms. The storage rooms are crowded with crates and shelves. You can find food, lamp oil cans, and much more inside of these storage areas. Other types of rooms exist, such as sleeping quarters, but these are rare. The sleeping quarters tend to have thin metal bunk beds, which are very rusty and stained. The mattresses are thin and very uncomfortable. These areas are also the only ones where you can find electric lighting. Sometimes there are carpets here. Even in non-shaft areas, the walls, roof, and floor are still comprised of raw rock, usually being sharp and uncomfortable. Most of the level is a dull gray or a yellowish color, with occasional splashes of reddish-gray, dark gray, black, and white. The level has vegetation scattered around, usually in the form of moss or mushrooms. The plants continue to grow despite the lack of light. Speaking of light, level 10 is dim and dark. The only sources of light are bioluminescent molds and old oil lanterns, which burn out commonly. Most of the level is in complete darkness, making it hard to navigate. Food and supplies are extremely rare, making this level dangerous. There are a few common entities that appear on level 10. You can enter level 10 through a rusted door on level 7, through a painting of a mine on level 9, or by noclipping from level 11. Exit by going back through the door to get to level 7, finding a large, watered area to get to level 17, or by noclipping to enter level 11. There are a few bases scattered around level 10, but they are rare to come across, as nobody likes this level. :(
